BIOS MATER

The BIOS MATER project proposes a holistic approach built around four core pillars:

  • it focuses on innovation in bio-based product development to enhance durability, mechanical strength, and functional performance.
  • it emphasizes health, safety, and environmental impact through the application of a Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD) approach throughout their lifecycle.
  • it integrates circular economy principles to create scalable and resource-efficient production methods
  • it aims to boost market adoption by promoting awareness and engagement through digital transparency and effective communication.

The BIOS MATER project will concentrate on developing four innovative production routes to create advanced construction and building products.

What Levery does in BIOS MATER

Levery's key activities include shaping the project's blueprint, which involves defining the scope, objectives, and methodologies for material design and final application. Levery will also conduct a comprehensive benchmarking of the status quo and mapping of barriers for the bio-based construction sector to understand current practices, identify challenges, and pinpoint opportunities for integrating new sustainable materials. Finally, Levery will perform compatibility and performance evaluation with the built environment using digital solutions and BIM. This crucial step ensures the new bio-based materials can be effectively integrated into existing construction processes and perform optimally in real-world scenarios.
